The students of the Martyr Abdel Moneim Riad School in the city of Arbin in the Damascus countryside translated the culture of volunteer work and their interest in their school through their participation today in the national campaign (My School is My Home) organized by the Revolutionary Youth Union in cooperation with the Ministry of Education.

The campaign included maintenance of benches, cleaning and sterilization of classrooms, planting the school garden, drawing on the walls, and creating designs from the environment, with the aim of promoting a culture of volunteer work among young people and strengthening their affiliation with their schools.

During his participation in the campaign, Minister of Education Dr. Darem Tabbaa stressed that the return of life to the city of Irbeen, which suffered from terrorism, is reflected through the initiatives of its students to make their schools more beautiful, pointing to the importance of activating the role of youth through extracurricular activities and educational and community initiatives.

The designated head of the Revolutionary Youth Union, Ali Al-Abbas, indicated that the campaign promotes the values ​​of cooperation and volunteerism among young people and motivates them to present ideas that will reflect positively on their school to be the most beautiful place.

The Martyr Abdel Moneim Riyad School was rehabilitated in 2019, according to Solina Hamadeh, head of the organization's volunteer work office, noting the campaign for students' participation in improving their school environment.

In turn, a number of students pointed out the importance of preserving the school as their second home and a source of knowledge and life skills to build their future. The first secondary student (Imad Abu Yahya) pointed out that he found in the campaign an opportunity to develop his talent in recycling environmental components and designing artistic models, and the opinion of the third secondary student shared the opinion (Abdul Karim Al-Bush), who drew a number of paintings on the walls of his school, taking advantage of his skill of drawing and coloring.

The student, Yamen Habak, pointed out that he had a simple experience in repairing wooden benches from his father, the carpenter, who was able to employ it today with the participation of a number of his colleagues in repairing a number of benches in his school.

It is noteworthy that the campaign (My School is My Home) was launched at the beginning of the school year and is continuing in various schools in the governorates.
