The American stuntman Alex Harvill had a fatal accident on his motorcycle shortly before attempting a world record.

The 28-year-old died during a test jump at Grant County Airport in Washington state, as the county sheriff announced on Thursday.

Accordingly, an autopsy should be performed on Friday to determine the exact cause of death.

According to the organizers, Harvill wanted to try on Thursday to break the record for the longest jump from a ramp - this is said to be 107 meters.

The accident occurred while preparing for the jump.

The stuntman already had an entry in the Guinness Book of Records for a motorcycle jump from 2013. According to the celebrity portal TMZ, Harvill became a father for the second time last month.
