A woman in Rockford in the US state of Illinois apparently had two unpleasant surprises: The employee of a subway store was first attacked - and then suspended when the surveillance video was released.
So she tells the local newspaper "Rockford Register Star".
On September 5, she was working alone in the sandwich shop when a man came in with a gun and asked for money.
The 20-year-old said she had worked at Subway for about a month at the time and had received no training or instruction on what to do in a robbery.
Video shows how the woman struggles with the attacker
The video shows the woman yelling at the attacker and fighting with him.
When the man drops the gun, the woman picks it up.
At the end of the video you can see that she hits him once in the head with the gun.
Then the recording ends.
How the video first came to the public is unclear.
The woman says she only posted it on TikTok after her boss suspended her from her job.
The attacker stole her handbag with her ID and bank card.
The shopkeeper did not want to speak to the newspaper about the incident.
In a written statement, Subway headquarters said the company was "deeply concerned about the recent incident at a Rockford, Illinois franchise location."
The restaurant owner would fully cooperate with the police in the investigation.
The company asked for patience until this process is completed.
