A method of overcoming insomnia (@ dr.karanr)

What would you say if you were told that the best way to fall asleep fast is to force yourself not to fall asleep?

Dr. Karen Raj, the ticking star whose methods we have covered for you quite a bit here on the site, claims that the method that helped him overcome insomnia at the beginning of his medical career is reverse psychology.

You all know that.

You are lying in bed, you are hot and sticky, in your mind thoughts run, you are tired but just can not fall asleep.

It is estimated that about 95 percent of us suffer from insomnia at some point in our lives, with about 15 percent of people having a chronic problem that greatly affects their daily routine and health.

Occasionally we try a new method of fast falling asleep including practicing breathing and muscle release, but most of the time we give in to the white night.

Dr. Karen Raj suggests a method that will not require any practice or effort from you and he says he himself suffered from insomnia until he tried it. In a video he shared on his very popular Tiktok channel (almost 5 million followers), he explained:

There's one thing I thought was not going to work and it worked. "

He added:" Basically, you say to yourself 'I'm not going to sleep' and you stay awake.

You do not read a book and do not fiddle with the phone, do not watch TV, nothing.

You just lie in bed with your eyes open.

You force yourself to stay awake, say to yourself, 'Do not go to sleep, do not go to sleep.'

In many cases, you will feel tired and fall asleep.

It worked for me. "

"By the way," he added in the comments, "this is called 'paradoxical intent.'

His method is actually to work on yourself so that you fall asleep "unintentionally", or as one remarked in the comments: "This is reverse psychology".

When asked in response "When did he manage to overcome his insomnia?"

He replied, "When I stopped watching TV until late at night."
