The closing rally of Holocaust Martyrs' and Heroes' Remembrance Day will be held tonight (Thursday) at the Ghetto Fighters' House.
This year, the ceremony was held under the sign of "last offspring" - a salute to the Holocaust survivors who immigrated to Israel after their entire family perished, and fell while defending it in the Israeli systems.
President Reuven Rivlin will speak at the rally.
The rally has been held every year since 1949, when the kibbutz and the Ghetto Fighters' House were founded, the only Holocaust museum in the world established by Holocaust survivors.
Six they will carry beacons in it.
"The rally reflects the values we believe in: the human spirit, the struggle of the Jews during the Holocaust and the path of the survivors to the revival - the establishment of the State of Israel," said Yigal Cohen, director general of the Ghetto Fighters' House. The rally will be accompanied by songs by singer Hanan Ben-Ari, and a film will be screened about the "last offspring" fighters who were killed in the War of Independence without leaving a sequel.
The prayer of remembrance will be recited by Malka Sofer, daughter of Sarah and Yaakov Lite, one of the kibbutz's founders.
After that, the president will speak.
During the lighting of the beacons, the extraordinary story of the survivors Naomi Kotzky, Dalia Gavish, Hermina Lang, Gabriel Gross, Yehudit Kirley and Marzl Kurtzman will be noted.
