An illegal car race between two drunk drivers may have resulted in an accident.
The drivers, a 22-year-old and a 25-year-old, were not injured in the accident on Landstrasse 369 in the direction of Mackenbach (Kaiserslautern district), as the police announced on Monday.
With excessive speed, both are said to have lost control of their cars at a roundabout.
Mackenbach - The two cars suffered a total write-off and traffic signs were torn from their anchoring.
According to a spokeswoman, this caused damage totaling around 15,000 euros on Saturday evening.
A breath alcohol test showed 0.48 and 1.04 per thousand for both drivers.
The accident could have been preceded by an illegal car race.
It is now being determined because of the danger to road traffic.
