A 24-year-old man was shot dead today (Monday) in Zarzir, apparently during a fight.

Many police forces were called to the scene, and opened an investigation into the suspicion of murder.

Police estimate that the background to the shooting is a conflict between criminals.



The young man, Paddy Grifat, was seriously injured in the shooting, and was taken to Haemek Hospital in Afula - where he was pronounced dead.

He is the 86th victim of violent incidents in Arab society in 2021.

"The wounded man was lying unconscious and suffering from a penetrating and bleeding injury to his body. We immediately began life-saving medical treatment and performed advanced resuscitation operations that included resuscitation, massage and medication," said Maor Etadegi, an MDA paramedic called to the scene today.
