Because of suspected salmonella, the manufacturer of a salami and cheese baguette sold at the discounter Netto recalled the goods.

The article "take away salami-cheese baguette" with the best before date 03.08.2021 and the batch number CH428115 is affected, said PE.WE GmbH from Lüdinghausen (North Rhine-Westphalia).

The product was offered nationwide at Netto Marken-Discount, except in Bremen, Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein.

Further best-before dates, batch numbers or other take away brand products are not affected.

It cannot be ruled out that individual packs are contaminated with salmonella.

Consumption could lead to health problems.

Netto immediately took the goods off sale.

Get medical attention if symptoms occur

A salmonella disease manifests itself within a few days after infection with diarrhea, abdominal pain and occasional vomiting and a low fever, it said.

The symptoms usually subside on their own after several days.

In particular, infants, toddlers, pregnant women, the elderly and people with a weakened immune system could develop more severe disease courses.

People who have eaten this food and develop severe or persistent symptoms should seek medical attention and advise them of a possible salmonella infection.
