An intense phase of training started by the Syrian national football team for juniors as part of its preparations to participate in the eighth West Asian Championship, which will be hosted by Saudi Arabia on the 14th of next month.
The preparations for the team started since last August, after the 130 players were gathered, according to the Football Association.
Twenty-three players will be selected to travel before heading to the Bahraini capital, Manama, during the next few days, to meet the Bahrain national team in two friendlies before the start of the West Asian Championship.
Our team will meet with its Bahraini counterpart in the West Asian Championship on the fifteenth of next month, and with the Palestine team on the nineteenth, in the second group.
According to the tournament system, the top places in the three groups of the tournament, in addition to the best second-placed team, qualify for the semi-finals.
