The Syrian Ambassador to Iran, Dr. Shafiq Diop, discussed with the President of the University of Iranian Islamic Denominations, Sayed Muhammad Hosseini, ways to enhance the joint scientific, cultural and academic cooperation between the two countries and the admission of Syrian students to the university.
During the meeting, which took place at the headquarters of the Syrian embassy in Tehran, Ambassador Diop stressed the importance of scientific cooperation between the two countries, stressing that one of our priorities at this stage is to raise the level of this cooperation to the level of the existing political and strategic relations between them.
Ambassador Diop added: “In the past years, we have been partners in the war against terrorism and have achieved many achievements. As we were partners in the war, we hope to be partners in the reconstruction of what terrorism destroyed in Syria, especially that the educational infrastructure was greatly damaged by terrorist acts,” explaining that the reconstruction Education is a priority at this stage and we welcome the cooperation between our two countries and universities in this regard.
He pointed out that work is continuing vigorously to enhance cooperation in the scientific and technological field, as a draft agreement in this regard has been prepared and will be signed in the near future, stressing the strength and strength of relations between the two countries.
For his part, the President of the University of Islamic Denominations said that relations between Iran and Syria will witness further development and there will be more cooperation during the new phase in the scientific, cultural and economic fields.
Hosseini stressed that the widespread popular participation in the presidential elections is an important indicator of the defeat of Syria's enemies and the victory of the resistance movement.
Hosseini announced the University of Islamic Denominations' readiness to accept Syrian students in all academic levels, stressing the expansion of scientific, cultural and academic relations between the two countries and the Iranian and Syrian peoples.
