Between the Umayyad Mosque and Medhat Pasha Street, the Arabic music group Nagham sang on the stage of Al-Azm Palace with the sweetest melodies, singing with it the singer Diab Sukari with the most beautiful Syrian muwashahat that carried the fragrance of originality and the spirit of heritage.
The evening began with Bayat listening to musician Aziz Dardar, after which Sukkari sang a colorful bouquet of muwashahat by the great Syrian composers, which he began with Abu Khalil al-Qabbani, and three muwashahat are: About Me".
He also presented three muwashshahat by Majdi Al-Aqili, “Oh, the bartender, and your earnest is the rain, and if you knew what love would do,” the audience of Qasr Al-Azm interacted with them by applause and singing.
The evening, led by the able player of the law, Abdel Wahab Atma, concluded with two Damascene songs, “Ya Mal al-Sham and a bird of my bird, Ya Hamama.”
Diab Ahmed Sukkari, a solo singer in the Umayyah band for more than ten years, worked with the late Hamza Shakur, to present together more than 60 concerts, presented traditional Syrian muwashshahat and songs, and toured most European and Arab countries, presenting dozens of heritage concerts.
