The Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection announced the readiness of the Syrian Trading Corporation to secure any quantity of citrus for juice factories, without merchants' commissions, and all production requirements without exception.
And in a statement published by the ministry on its Facebook page today: The import of fruit juice concentrates and flavorings is prohibited, as any juice factory in Syria that does not use citrus completely is considered a violation according to Legislative Decree No. 8 of 2021.
A few days ago, the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection announced an initiative to manufacture concentrated juice in cooperation with NGOs to help citrus farmers and spare them from incurring heavy losses due to the stagnation of their crop.
It is noteworthy that the Syrian Trade Corporation is working to buy citrus from farmers and market it to its showrooms in various governorates and to various consumer agencies, according to the government plan recently approved for marketing citrus fruits.
