The Taliban have announced talks with EU representatives for Tuesday.
The meeting will take place in Doha, said the incumbent Taliban Foreign Minister Amir Chan Muttaki on Monday in the Qatari capital.
At the weekend, for the first time since the US withdrawal from Afghanistan, representatives of the US and the Taliban met in Doha in person.
According to the US, the two-day talks focused on "security and terrorism issues."
Further focal points were the human rights situation and the "participation of women and girls in all aspects of Afghan society".
Afghan economy collapsed
The US State Department had previously stated that the talks in Doha would not be about formal recognition or legitimation of the Taliban in Afghanistan.
Rather, it is a continuation of the "pragmatic" talks on questions of US national interest.
In the talks, the US delegation emphasized that "the Taliban would be judged on their actions and not just on their words," said Foreign Ministry spokesman Ned Price.

After the withdrawal of the international NATO troops, the Taliban had conquered large parts of the country.
On August 15, they entered the capital, Kabul, without a fight.
Since the seizure of power, minorities have been partially displaced.
The economy collapsed.
Many people are on the run in their own country and have lost their jobs.
Drought and subsequent crop failures are fueling the already precarious situation.
Food prices have risen, and one in three people in the country is now starving.
According to the Taliban, the US wants to continue providing humanitarian aid
The Taliban announced on Monday that the US wanted to provide humanitarian aid and would support the work of humanitarian organizations.
The Taliban had welcomed the promise of aid and stated that they wanted to work with aid organizations to provide aid in a transparent manner.
The US described the talks as "open and professional".
It was also about the safe exit of US citizens, other foreign nationals and Afghan local workers.
The German Federal Government is also continuing to work on enabling former Afghan Bundeswehr helpers to leave the country.
So far, only 349 former local employees have made it to Germany.
A total of 6100 people benefited from the evacuation, including more than 500 German citizens.
