Tariq Ramadan fined for revealing name of woman accusing him of rape

The Swiss Islamologist was sentenced to a fine of 3000 euros for having revealed in his book “Duty of truth” the identity of “Christelle”, one of the women who accuse him of rape.


Swiss Islamologist Tariq Ramadan was sentenced Friday, November 6 by the Paris Criminal Court to a fine of 3,000 euros, including 2,000 suspended sentences, for having revealed in a book and on television the identity of one of the women who 'accused of rape.

Ramadan, five times indicted for rapes that he disputes, was tried in September for having given the real name of the one who presents herself in the media as "

Christelle

" and accuses her of having raped her in a room hotel in Lyon in 2009.

In Tariq Ramadan's book “

Duty of truth

”, released in September 2019, the real name of “

Christelle

” is mentioned 84 times.

The Islamologist had also pronounced it during an interview with Jean-Jacques Bourdin on BFMTV-RMC.

The lawyer of "

Christelle

", Me Eric Morain, expressed his "
