The Iranian Foreign Ministry affirmed that participation in the negotiations on the Iranian nuclear file is for the sake of negotiation only, without achieving absolutely unacceptable results.
Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said that "negotiating for the sake of negotiation" in the context of the Iranian nuclear file is totally unacceptable to Iran, stressing that economic terrorism against it "will not yield any fruits."
In a statement today in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, Khatibzadeh stressed that no one speaks on behalf of Iran, calling on “the party that left the nuclear agreement to wake up from its sleep,” referring to the United States of America that withdrew from the agreement.
Khatibzadeh added, "Our task is to participate in the dialogue on the basis of results only, and negotiations for the sake of negotiations are totally unacceptable."
Earlier today, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian confirmed Iran's readiness to return to the negotiating table with the "four plus one" group on the implementation of the nuclear agreement signed between his country and major powers in 2015, indicating that the new US administration sent negative signals to Tehran because of its inability to implement Lift the economic embargo.
