Lorenzo Sonego has taken off the pass for the quarter-finals of the "Moselle Open", ATP 250 with a prize pool of 534,555 euros that is being played on the fast indoor track in Metz, France.
The 27-year-old from Turin, n.65 in the rankings, defeated 7-6 (2) 6-4, in two hours and eight minutes, the French Gilles Simon, n.175 in the ranking, scored three times in Metz (2009, 2010 and 2018) and on the scoreboard thanks to a wild card.
Tomorrow Sonego will play a place in the semifinals with the American Sebastian Korda, # 49 ATP, who yesterday eliminated Lorenzo Musetti in two sets.
