The two-time French Open winner Kevin Krawietz won the double title at the lawn tournament in Halle, Westphalia for the first time.

The 29-year-old defeated the unseeded Felix Auger-Aliassime (Canada) and Hubert Hurkacz (Poland 7: 6 (7: 4), 6: 4) in the final on Sunday with his Romanian partner Horia Tecău. The winners converted after 1:29 hours the second match point.

A week before the start of the Wimbledon tournament, Krawietz celebrated the sixth double title of his career and the first on grass.

With his regular partner Andreas Mies, Krawietz won the French Open in 2019 and 2020.

This year he had to do without his usual partner, Mies had an operation on his knee in February.

This year, at the side of Tecău, Roland Garros had already reached the quarterfinals.

Felix Auger-Aliassime and Hubert Hurkacz had beaten Tim Pütz and Michael Venus (Frankfurt / New Zealand) in the semifinals of Halle.
