The socialist considers that she has fulfilled the objectives and that "the time has come to leave" the position

The Government delegate in Catalonia, the socialist Teresa Cunillera, has communicated this Friday to the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, her willingness to leave the position at the head of the central Executive delegation in Catalonia.

In a statement, the delegation has explained that Cunillera has sent a letter to Sánchez in which it has stated that it considers that it has met its objectives and that "the time has come to leave" the position. In the letter, Cunillera argues that the situation in Catalonia "has improved considerably" since he took office in June 2018 and that the Government of Spain is fulfilling its commitments to citizens. "I have tried to fulfill the assignment received, so the time has come to leave my post," he explained.

Cunillera accepted the position in June 2018, relieving Enric Millo at the time that the application of 155 was lifted in Catalonia and in a context of tension after the events of 2017 of the independence process, and he remained in the position after the general elections that the coalition government between the PSOE and United We Can emerged.

The delegate has assured that in these years she has tried to live up to the assignment with effort and dedication, and hopes not to have disappointed Sánchez's confidence: "Wherever I am, I will always be by your side, trying to help and accompany you as much as I can." my chances," he said.

“It has been a pride, that no one can take away from me, to have shared so many important moments for our socialist project and to have been its delegate in Catalonia”, she highlighted.
