According to our information, confirmed in Rome as in Paris in
Le Figaro
, Mgr Michel Aupetit, 70, Archbishop of Paris since December 2017, would consider resigning.
He met last week in Rome with Cardinal Ouellet, Prefect of the Congregation of Bishops in this regard.

Monday, November 22, he announced his resignation plan to his restricted episcopal council.
His letter of resignation addressed to Pope Francis - who alone can decide - arrived in Rome on Thursday, November 25.
An article revealing an old affair with a woman dating back to 2012, published by the
Point

on November 22 and in the magazine on November 25 - a link which the archbishop formally denied the seriousness of this newspaper and of which he would have informed his hierarchy in 2012 - would be one of the causes of this resignation request.
These sources, like others, also report internal management difficulties in the diocese, which would feed a general “unease”.
