An 18-year-old male student with autism was involved in the conflict in Mong Kok in October of the previous year, calling the police officers "dead black police officers" and assaulting police officers.

The male student denied that he had committed disorderly behavior and assaulted the police in a public place for a total of 3 crimes. The magistrate stated in the Kowloon City Magistracy today (16th) that the student reached out to hit the police officer’s helmet and pulled the police baton hard, not an accident, and thought he Allegations of being slapped by a police officer and refusal to seek medical treatment were not credible, and the student was convicted of all charges.

The magistrate first obtained reports from the reeducation center for the students, and adjourned the sentence until the 30th of this month. The students must still be sentenced.

The defendant, Chen Bingzhen (19 years old), was charged with disrupting order and assaulting two police officers at the junction of Nathan Road and Waterloo Road in Mong Kok on October 20, 2019.

The defendant claimed to have been slapped vigorously by the police officer. The officer alleged that the statement did not match the medical report.

The magistrate Zheng Nienci said in the ruling today that the defendant scolded and shouted "just pull" at the police officer in the crowd to stir up other people's emotions. After the police officer warned, the defendant hit the opponent's helmet and pulled another police officer's baton. During this period, he suffered pain in his right shoulder.

The defense earlier stated that the defendant was slapped many times by police officers after being taken into the police car. The police officers claimed that he had to sign a warning statement before going to the hospital for treatment, and questioned that the defendant's statement was not admitted voluntarily.

Zheng Guan said that although the defendant has autism, it does not affect his intelligence, and believes that he knows and understands the procedures of arrest and caution.

Zheng Guan believes that if the defendant was shot in the eyes by pepper spray, he should have complained of discomfort in the police car as early as the police station.

Official Zheng pointed out that the defendant's claim that he had been slapped vigorously for many times did not match the medical report. If what he said was true, he should be angry, but he did not speak to police officers or his family at the police station.

The police officer once allowed him to call his family. Official Zheng pointed out that if the defendant was slapped, the police would prevent him from contacting his family.

Zheng Guan believed that the defendant's statement was unreasonable and unbelievable, and refused to exercise his discretion to remove the statement.

The judge accused the defendant of multiple typos in the pleas and questioned whether he was serious in writing

Although there was no filming of the defendant's assault on the police in the clip, Zheng Guan accepted the evidence from the two police officers involved.

On that day, the crowd laughed at the police’s academic qualifications. The defendant’s name "just pull" was meant to be a sparring, and to stir up the emotions of the people present, undermine the peace of society, and intended to elevate the scolding to armed conflict.

It was not accidental that the defendant reached out to hit the police officer's helmet and pulled the baton forcefully. It was an intentional assault on the police. He was convicted of one count of disturbing order in a public place and two counts of assaulting a police officer.

The defense submitted a letter of plea written by the defendant himself, hoping that the court could obtain a report from the rehabilitation center for him.

However, Guan Zheng believed that the defendant was convicted after interrogation without remorse. He criticized the typo in the letter and said, "I don’t know how serious he wrote this letter." He said, "He apologized to me as a cover, and he didn’t hit me." ".

Zheng Guan emphasized that the punishment of the rehabilitation center was too light, and he tended not to consider it. However, at the request of the defense, he asked for reports from the rehabilitation center, labor camp, and training center. The sentence was sentenced on the 30th of this month, during which the defendant had to pay the penalty.
