This is the story of a drug factory in bankruptcy, saved a few weeks after its closure.
In January 2020, the Inpharmasci site, located in Prouvy (Hauts-de-France), was taken over by the manufacturer Athena Pharmaceutiques, which manufactures antibiotics and cardiology drugs (tablets, capsules, sachets) for generic laboratories, including Mylan and Arrow.
By buying the factory, which has existed for forty years, Athena is banking on French know-how.
"The objective was also to respond more effectively and more reactively to the demand of European patients",
explains Alexandre Williams, its manager, who until then manufactured in India.
A few months before the start of the Covid, 114 jobs have been saved.

In less than two years, 5 million euros are invested in the plant.
These funds make it possible to replace machines and create new production lines, in particular a packaging line for effervescent products.
