The Central Bank of Syria has set the exchange rate of the US dollar in its publication today for the allowances of the categories specified in Legislative Decree No. 31 of 2020 and residing in Syria, who are allowed by the decree to pay the compulsory service allowance in foreign currency or its equivalent in Syrian pounds at 2550 Syrian pounds.
In a statement SANA received a copy of, the bank stated that the cash allowance is accepted from those categories, whether it is in Syrian pounds, American dollars or euros in cash exclusively, and neither the Central Bank of Syria nor any of the operating banks and licensed exchange institutions sell the US dollars and the euro in order to pay the cash allowance for these Categories.
According to the aforementioned decree, the person charged with compulsory service who was decided to place in fixed service is entitled to pay a cash allowance of three thousand US dollars or its equivalent in Syrian pounds according to the exchange rate determined by the Central Bank of Syria on the date of payment, and the military personnel who are in compulsory service benefit from the provisions of the previous clause.
A pilot working for the Syrian Airlines Corporation who has been postponed in accordance with Paragraph Two of Article 10 of the Military Service Law for a period of five continuous years, or who has completed five years of actual service with the aforementioned institution and continued to practice the profession, may pay a cash allowance of ten thousand US dollars or so Equivalent in Syrian pounds according to the exchange rate determined by the Central Bank of Syria on the date of payment
The bank stated that a bulletin will be issued periodically for the exchange rate of the dollar allowances for the aforementioned categories in line with the economic and financial conditions.
