The climate emergency can cause wars and violence in 5 American countries

The climate emergency represents a growing threat to national security in the United States.

In addition, rising temperatures, drought and extreme weather are likely to lead to more instability and conflict, especially in developing countries, according to new reports from intelligence agencies, the White House and the Department of Defense.

These reports describe

caused by radical changes in the global climate.

They foresee that countries will compete for food and fresh water as they face transboundary waves of migration. 

Reports by Joe Biden's Administration come as world leaders plan to meet next month in Glasgow, Scotland, to discuss the crucial fight against climate change.

A new climate report by the National Intelligence Council, the first of its kind, warns that climate change will exacerbate global tensions and

if current trends continue.

These are Afghanistan, Myanmar, India, Pakistan, North Korea, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Nicaragua, Colombia, and Iraq.

"We estimate that climate change will increasingly exacerbate the risks to the national security of the United States as the physical impacts and geopolitical tensions increase on how to respond to the challenge," indicated in the report entitled

, issued by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.

"The intensification of physical effects will exacerbate geopolitical flashpoints, particularly after 2030, and key countries and regions will face increasing risks of instability and the need for humanitarian assistance," it said.

The report reflects a consensus of all intelligence agencies in the country.

In addition to the 11 countries mentioned, the intelligence report also warns that climate change is likely to lead to greater instability in Central Africa and the small island states of the Pacific Ocean, which it described as "

In the Middle East, declining revenues from oil and other fossil fuels will likely put countries in the region under greater pressure as they suffer from extreme heat and longer droughts, according to the report.

A White House report indicates that migration driven by climate change could put further pressure on America's partners and allies, because

Although Russia will also face difficulties from climate change, such as floods and more forest fires, it could benefit because it will have more land available for cultivation.
