Summary of the Conference League qualifiers: Zira - Maccabi Tel Aviv 3:0 (Sport1)

Maccabi Tel Aviv waited for weeks for Dor Peretz's decision, but tonight (Monday) it was accepted and became official: the 27-year-old midfielder returned to his youth club.

Peretz signed for three years with an option for another season for 550,000 euros per season, and like Eran Zahavi who did it last month, he completed another magnificent comeback in Kiryat Shalom which means that the Yellows can sign a 'V' for a particularly significant boost in an attempt to regain the championship title.

Peretz, who will return to Maccabi Tel Aviv wearing jersey number 42, told the official website after the signing: "It's exciting to return home. Feels like I never left. To say that I'm excited to enter the locker room again, meet my friends, train in Kiryat Shalom and arrive at Bloomfield on Thursday for a game in European is not a cliché at all. This is the truth. The hard work begins here and now, I wish us all success and that we succeed in achieving all our goals."

The director of the football department, Barak Itzhaki, added: "The qualities that Dor has are recognized and known to all of us, therefore we are sure that he will quickly integrate into the existing squad and will contribute a lot to Maccabi Tel Aviv in the coming season and in the future."

Dor Peretz finished his contract with Maccabi Tel Aviv last year and chose to move for free to Venice, the newcomer to the Italian Serie A.

In his contract in the Land of the Boot, which was for three years for a salary of about 900 thousand euros per season, there was a clause that allows him to terminate the contract in the event of the team's relegation back to Serie B, and this is how the national team contacted him and became a free agent.

In recent weeks, Peretz was debating whether to return to Israel due to the interest and offers received from teams such as Franzvarous, Khimki Moscow, Blackpool and Hull City, but now the fallout has fallen and he has returned to Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Peretz rarely played in the last year in Venice, in fact he got to be on the field for only 575 minutes in 18 games in which he participated in the Italian league, and in light of the fact that he was a free agent for the last two months, he will need more time to get into playing shape.

In the Israeli national team, he maintained his status as a team player even throughout the past difficult year and in total made 30 appearances and scored five goals since debuting in the national uniform in October 2015.

As you know, Peretz came up to Maccabi Tel Aviv's seniors in the 2014/15 season and made his debut in the Toto Cup.

With the exception of a half-season loan to Hapoel Haifa in January 2017 and of course the last season in Venice, he played his entire career in Maccabi Tel Aviv, winning three championships with the team, two state cups - his last game in the team was in the derby against Hapoel Tel Aviv in June 2021 - as well as four Toto Cups.
