The activities of the Oil Painting 2022 Forum, which lasted for five days, concluded this evening at the Palace of Culture in As-Suwayda, under the title “Syria, the Cradle of Civilizations.”

The end of the forum included the opening of an art exhibition for the completed works of the participating plastic artists, which included a group of paintings of different sizes occupied with oil colours, a short film about the works and honoring the participating artists.

Plastic artist Nadia Naim, participating in an acrylic technique on canvas, embodied women with their beauty, which symbolizes the homeland, peace, hope and joy, and it is an expression of a dreamy idea of ​​the wishes we live in to overcome the difficult stage.

The plastic artist, Dr. Youssef Al-Boushi, was inspired by the nature of As-Suwayda and its stones, his painting that he executed in acrylic near the Habran Dam and called it inspired by the Habran Dam, and it reflects the aesthetics of both time and place in this region according to the artist’s vision.

 The plastic artist Ayman Fadda Radwan worked in his painting on the human face and the disparity between sad and happy looks, while the artist Safaa Bunduq embodied her painting with acrylic technology and in an expressive style, the feelings of women and the pain they face, adding symbols that suggest giving, cruelty and altruism.

The artist Bassam Abu Zeidan also embodied in his work, which he called "Bound Women", the injustice suffered by women in society, using symbols and human forms to convey the connotations of his idea.

In her speech during the closing ceremony, the Director of Culture in Suwayda, Laila Abu Fakhr, pointed out the importance of the forum, which brings together a group of artists from different artistic schools, considering that oil painting has surpassed the rest of the other types of plastic arts and photography by imagination that frees the image from the artist’s mind to implementation.

On the ground, by embodying nature, expressing the same human being, and talking about his problems and chaos, and about life and its beauty, with that high artistic spirit, and with that solid contract between the artist, his painting, and his colors.

 The Oil Painting Forum was launched last Sunday with the participation of the plastic artists Adnan Hamida, Nadia Naim, Ayman Fadda Radwan, Bassam Abu Zeidan, Dr. Saed Salloum, Dr. Youssef Al-Boushi, Hikmat Naim and Safa Banud, and its activities included a lecture by the writer Dr. Thaer Zain Al-Din entitled “Representations of Fine Art in the Novel” and a day of artwork Open, drawing in the lap of nature, a musical listening session in action with a screening of a film about the artist Modigliani.
