The Courtin-Clarins family acquires Château Beauséjour HDL

STORY - Three projects clashed for the takeover of Château Beauséjour Héritiers Duffau-Lagarrosse, in Saint-Emilion. A real episodic and above all twists and turns ended today, with the decision of the board of directors of Safer.


After a day of waiting, the press release fell.

It is the “Beauséjour Courtin” project which wins the bid, that is to say seven small hectares… But not just any.

Seven hectares (6.24 hectares planted to be exact), in the Saint-Emilion 1er Grand Cru Classé “B” appellation, located a stone's throw from the Angélus and Beau-Sejour Bécot châteaux.

The transaction, for an amount of 75 million euros, will allow Joséphine Duffau-Lagarrosse to return to the family property since 1847 - this is moreover one of the conditions for the attribution of the sale to the Courtin-Clarins. .
