The appeal commission of the financial policeman of French football was not convinced by the Bordeaux file. The future of the Girondins

It's an earthquake in French football, and no doubt a big blow to the head for an entire city that has lived for decades to the rhythm of its club's performance in Ligue 1. Meeting this Tuesday to examine the case of the Girondins de Bordeaux, the DNCG appeal committee confirmed the demotion of the club to National 1, pronounced in mid-June.

The club can still seize the CNOSF

For the past three weeks, the president of the Girondins Gérard Lopez has tried, in vain, to find new financial guarantees to present to the financial policeman of French football.

The Bordeaux president had "handed over" to the tune of 10 million euros, as he had announced on RMC, and had reached an agreement with his creditors to absorb the club's debt as much as possible.

The new financial elements presented therefore obviously did not convince the DNCG.

After this new decision against him, the Girondins however have a new possibility: the French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF), which the club should seize according to information from RMC Sport.

Despite everything, this decision further weakens the situation of Bordeaux.

For the club, it

is at least

a new long administrative battle which is committed to keep the club in Ligue 2, without really guarantees or, at worst, the assurance of leaving the professional world of French football.

The club still has a few weeks to save itself or, at least, buy time, before the resumption of Ligue 2 on July 31.
