The Jerusalem Magistrate's Court today (Monday) allowed the publication of the names of two suspects in the murder and disappearance case in Jerusalem, in which Rabbi Eliezer Berland and seven followers of the Shuvu Banim congregation under his leadership were arrested.

According to the suspicion, both of them - Zvi Zucker and Baruch Sharvit - had a role in the murder of Avi Edri and in the disappearance of the boy Nissim Sheetrit.

The first, Zvi Zucker, a resident of Jerusalem in his 70s, is Berland's son-in-law and one of the leaders of the chastity shift.

In the past he was one of the people closest to Berland, and in the early 2000s even helped him escape from his son Nachman.

A few years ago, Zucker left the Shuvu Banim community, following the revelation of the Berland sexual offenses case.

Zucker testified at the time against his father-in-law in the police and came out against the serious acts attributed to him, and as a result was expelled from the community.

He is suspected of being a key accomplice in the two murders of Nissim Sheetrit and Avi Edri.

Another suspect is Baruch Sharvit, about 70 years old. Sharvit, who was a former driver of a beehive band, joined the community in the 1980s.

Over the years he worked as a mezuzah and tefillin writer and in recent years has been less involved in the community, but has remained loyal to Berland to this day.

In January 1986, Nissim Sheetrit, a 17-year-old ultra-Orthodox young man, disappeared after arranging to meet Mike, a man who had met Sheetrit and his friends a week earlier.

According to testimonies and publications at the time, Sheetrit had been violently attacked earlier by the modesty guards operating at the time on the Haredi street.

Attempts over the years to locate Mike, the anonymous man, have stalled.

Avi Edri's body was found in 1990. Edri was the director of a yeshiva in Jerusalem and his body was found lying in the woods.

Both men are suspected of involvement in both cases, while the woman is suspected of trying to seduce the boy at the request of those involved in his disappearance.
