End of tenure at the Electric Company: According to an announcement issued by the company, an agreement was signed between it and the Histadrut and the Ministry of Finance that states that the temporary employees at the company will be able to continue working without the company having to decide whether to give them tenure or fire them.

In the past, after about 4-5 years of working for the company, the company had two options.

Provision of tenure or termination of employment.

Now the company will be able to continue to employ the employee out of a variety of needs: the preservation of knowledge, the continued employment of employees worthy of the empowerment of the company and the benefit of meeting its strategic goals, its adaptation to the changing reality and the strengthening of the infrastructure of the employees essential for continued regular and good activity.

All this, according to the company, in order to continue marching the energy economy forward and to enable employment stability and the recruitment of the best minds to its ranks.

Good news for temporary workers

With the signing of the agreement, the company actually avoids conflicts with the Histadrut and the company's committee regarding the question of layoffs, since today a permanent employee cannot be fired without the consent of the committee.

On the other hand, the company's temporary employees will not be protected by the committee, but they will receive salary conditions comparable to those of the permanent employees and the same possibilities for promotion to management positions and competing in tenders.

Ram Erlichman, CEO of the Electric Company

: "The signing of the interim agreement continues to be a great achievement for the economy in general and for the Electric Company in particular.

The agreement allows us employment flexibility and the ability to retain our excellent workers and employees, who lead and carry out projects with a national mission, with an extensive impact on Every home in Israel. I congratulate our partners, the workers' organization and the National Histadrut, for the blessed cooperation that led to the implementation of the important agreement, thus illustrating the commitment to the workers, especially against the background of the recent crises in the labor market."

The workers' organization was accompanied by economic advisors Ami Cohen and Harel Belinda and attorney Orli Even Zahav from the Arena Lin office. The Histadrut was represented by attorney Tahila Benisho, deputy head of the legal bureau of the General Assembly. On behalf of the electric company, the signing of the agreement was accompanied by attorney Michal Ben Dov and Dr. Mia Ron as well as the personnel of the payroll department led by Dani Marom and his deputy, Yaron Far.

Vice President of Human Resources, Attorney Shlomi Sarfati

: "This is another agreement approved in the last year at the Electric Company, which indicates a real revolution in our employment model and our adaptation to the dynamic labor market .

This, after a hybrid work model was approved for thousands of employees, followed by a "continuing temporary worker" agreement.

I would like to thank our partners in the workers' organization for their hard work and the salary supervisor at the Ministry of Finance for understanding the needs and helping them to the best of their ability."
