Traffic lights are currently being used to regulate traffic on the western outskirts of Moosinning.

The drainage is being improved here - one of several construction sites in the community that will be completed this year.

It was worth the hours of conversation.

Many road users and residents should breathe a sigh of relief in the coming weeks: several construction sites will come to an end in the municipality of Moosinning.

Moosinning

– Last year was a year of construction sites in Moosinning.

Work was done on several roads.

After the winter break, this work has been going on for a few weeks.

The largest measure is the renovation of the through-road in Eichenried - also for him and the administration "a hard piece of work", as Mayor Georg Nagler (SPD) reported in the town hall meeting.

Fresh in office, there was an inspection with the Freising State Building Authority in June 2020.

The resolution from October 2019 was clear: in certain places, the sidewalk along the main road would only be 1.30 meters wide because you couldn’t get more ground and the road would definitely be 6.50 meters wide.

You can't do more.

It also always failed at a difficult point with a pumping station from the wastewater treatment association (AZV).

"Until I spoke to someone at an AZV meeting in the fall and they said: 'If you want us to remove it, we will remove it,'" said Nagler.

Mayors, local councils and citizens are committed to wider sidewalks

The talks would have started again, “because the eye of the bottleneck had been eliminated”.

So he negotiated again with the residents, "and suddenly there was a willingness to do it.

It was great talks,” summarized the mayor.

A sidewalk width of 2.75 meters was the goal in order to be able to use at least the additional sign "Bikes free".

This was successful almost everywhere.

All municipal councils helped, and Eichenrieder Hans Kloh, who died at the beginning of the year, always campaigned "vehemently" for the widening of the sidewalk on the B 388.

“It was a collegial effort by residents and the local council.

I would like to thank all property owners for walking this path together," Nagler summed up and added: "It was worth the hours of discussion." Because there was always the fear: "If we don't do it now, then it will be in the next 50 not changed in years.”

Work on the B 388 in Eichenried has been going on since March 21st.

The sidewalks, a so-called bicycle lock, a crossing aid and the roadway of the federal road east of the Gfällach Bridge are expected to be completed by May 2nd.

From May 2nd to probably May 20th, the road will be completely closed to through traffic - whisper-quiet asphalt will be installed.

The expansion of the Sonnenstrasse should be completed by the end of May

Also since March 21, work has been going on again on the B 388 on the outskirts of Moosinning near Rewe.

As reported, work on the drainage between Fehlbachstrasse and Fasanenweg is continuing here.

Traffic there will be controlled by a traffic light until May 20th, after which a new asphalt surface layer will be applied, which will require a full closure for a few days.

At the end of May, the expansion of the Sonnenstrasse should also be completed.

"The aim was to slow down the speed and create parking spaces," explained Nagler.

The southern section was completed last year with the exception of the asphalt surface layer and the fortification of the parking spaces. Work is now being continued on the Sternstrasse–Erdinger Strasse section.

In the course of this, the water association will renew the remaining house connections in order to then continue with the actual road construction work.

This measure will cost the municipality almost half a million euros.

The Reiherweg in Eichenried is also waiting for an expansion – provided that all residents on the north side sign an urban planning contract with the municipality.

"The first contracts have already been signed," said Nagler and is looking forward to a "well-developed road and a sidewalk covering almost the entire length" as well as public parking facilities.
