The first national series of French language curricula reached the stage of printing to be experimentally available for students in some governorates, after the National Center for the Development of Educational Curricula at the Ministry of Education completed its writing and auditing.

The Director of the Curriculum Development Center, Dr. Nadia Al-Ghazouli, confirmed to SANA that the series “Imar” has been written for students from the seventh to the third grade of secondary school in its scientific and literary branches, with guides for teachers, noting that she will study the next academic year experimentally in some governorates to evaluate it through feedback from the field, develop training programs and build Tests and the establishment of a question bank for general exams in coordination with the Center for Educational Measurement and Evaluation.

Dr. Al-Ghazouli explained that since March of last year, committees of scientific coordinators, early mentors, specialists and highly qualified teachers were formed, and began work to build a national series in the French language parallel to the global series without relying on any external expertise, in addition to authoring guides for teachers.

Head of the French Curriculum Authoring Committee Iman ElBaradei, in turn, drew attention to the ministry’s endeavor to develop the objectives and standards for teaching the French language and to find a basis for evaluating any series according to national goals and standards, and the adoption of the European curriculum, which divided teaching objectives into six levels as a methodology for learning and dealing with the four skills that start with listening and then reading Writing is in addition to grammatical concepts and aligning these goals with the hours of learning.

ElBaradei pointed to the focus in the new curriculum on interactive, which is concerned with integrating the student's skills to live in a real situation or something similar through learning projects outside the classroom, such as presenting a theater scene or talking about a favorite character, for example, thus making the student a self-educated person with his tools.

ElBaradei revealed the merging of the two books of the student and the activities in one book containing 6 study units, and after every two units, the activities are moved directly to the activities to measure the extent to which the goal of the educational unit has been achieved. If the goal is not achieved, remedial activities must be carried out by the teacher for the student within the specified period of half an hour

From the time allotted to the lesson to rectify the weaknesses on the one hand and give the other students the opportunity to carry out enrichment activities.

With regard to the teacher’s guide, the head of the French Curriculum Authoring Committee stated that in the process of reviewing and scrutinizing, he focused on creating a large space for the teacher to be able to measure students’ performance and their development, with the development of banks with huge content of questions and assessment tests for the French language.

ElBaradei indicated that an appendix was written for high school students, the literary branch, to give the student an idea of ​​some literary genres so that he could understand the meaning of the tale, story, novel, play and other literary genres, and to have a solid foundation if he chose to specialize in the French language at the university level.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Education will launch a national series of the English language curriculum in the next academic year in some governorates as well.
