The film takes up one of the most resounding news items of Italy of the 1990s, the assassination of Maurizio Gucci (played by Adam Driver), heir to the Italian house, sponsored by his ex-wife Patrizia Reggiani ( Lady Gaga).

"The Gucci family reserves the right to take any initiative to protect its name and image, as well as those of its relatives"

, indicates a letter published by the Italian press agency ANSA and signed by the heirs of Aldo Gucci (1905 -1990), the founder of the luxury brand.

"Hooligans"

The letter specifies that the Gucci heirs were particularly hurt by the description of Patrizia Reggiani,

"a woman condemned to have ordered the murder of Maurizio Gucci (presented) as a victim"

.

She also regrets that Aldo Gucci and his relatives are portrayed as

"hooligans, ignorant and insensitive to the world around them"

.

House of Gucci

is directed by the Briton Ridley Scott, 83, author of several of the most emblematic films of the past 40 years such as

The Gucci family has not been involved in the luxury brand since the 1990s. It is now owned by the French group Kering, founded by billionaire François Pinault.
