Hackers and thugs suspected of having usurped the identity of 35 doctors to produce fake health passes have been arrested in

The case illustrates the limits of the health pass created by the government to encourage vaccination.

It also underlines the limitless imagination of crooks to meet the demand of recalcitrants to the vaccine against Covid-19.

Finally, it demonstrates that it is actually very difficult to know the real level of vaccination in France, as the means of circumventing the rules seem numerous.

According to concordant sources, five people were arrested on Tuesday January 25 and this Wednesday by the gendarmes of the Central Office for the fight against damage to the environment and public health (Oclaesp) as part of an open judicial investigation. on December 15, 2021 by the cybercrime section of the Paris public prosecutor's office, in particular for fraudulent access and maintenance in an automated data system, forgery and use of forgery, aggravated money laundering and criminal association.

These five crooks based in Lyon (Rhône) and in the Paris region are suspected of having issued more than 62,000 true-false health passes undetectable by the authorities.

At least 35 practitioners have had their identities stolen by hackers

At the origin of this investigation, the report of a doctor based in the Poitou-Charentes region.

By logging into his Ameli Pro account, this practitioner discovers a notable inconsistency: his identifiers have made it possible to provide dozens of health passes to patients whom he has never seen.

The gendarmes are notified and the first investigations reveal that this is not an isolated case.

Across France, at least 35 practitioners have had their identities stolen by hackers.

All were hacked in the same way, suggesting that a single group is behind this targeted and coordinated attack.

Over the course of their investigations, the gendarmes manage to trace the little computer geniuses who are hiding behind these massive hacks.

These are the three hackers in the group, aged 22 to 29.

By taking advantage of security vulnerabilities to connect to Ameli Pro accounts, they were able to produce fake health passes in industrial quantities.

Obviously a profitable business.

Between 100 and 300 euros the fake health pass

Several customers identified by the investigators confirmed having purchased the sanitary passes, sold mainly on the Internet, between 100 and 300 euros.

The profits of the crooks, which are currently being assessed, could prove to be dizzying and amount to several million euros.

Two other men arrested by the gendarmes of Oclaesp and the Poitiers research section are also suspected of having had an active role in the money laundering aspect of the case.

Moreover, in connection with this case, the PJs of Lyon and Rennes arrested this week eight people on the rogatory commission of a judge of the Jirs of Lyon.

These men with the profile of thugs are suspected of having been linked to the pirates arrested by the gendarmes and of having played an organizing role in this massive traffic.
