A big disappointment for Yoni Ehrlich, who had to give up today (Wednesday) his participation in the ATP tournament in Tel Aviv due to back pain.
As you may recall, the decorated 45-year-old doubles tennis player intended to sign off his long career with a spicy collaboration with Novak Djokovic in the doubles tournament of the prestigious competition held in Israel, but in the end he was ineligible to compete and announced his withdrawal just hours before his intended match and that of the Serbian against the Dutch duo Sander Arends and Bart Stevens.

Erlich, who has served for the past two and a half years as the captain of the Israeli Davis team, was ranked fifth in the world in doubles at his peak, and enjoyed a wonderful career together with Andy Ram.
In total he won 19 doubles titles, including one Grand Slam (Australia, 2008).
