A new Judaization scheme faced by the Palestinians in the occupied city of Jerusalem, where the Israeli occupation authorities announced the seizure of large areas of the lands of Silwan and the vicinity of Al-Aqsa Mosque and handing them over to settlers with the aim of bringing about demographic change and emptying the city of Palestinian presence.
The National Office for Defending Land and Resisting Settlements of the Palestine Liberation Organization stated in a report today published on its website that the occupation began implementing a Judaization scheme that was announced in 2018 to steal Palestinian lands in the Al-Thawri neighborhood in Silwan and the Umayyad palaces area south of Al-Aqsa Mosque, where it seized and began handing it over to settlers What threatens to displace hundreds of Palestinian families from their homes and change the nature of the region and its cultural and historical identity, pointing out that this crime has major repercussions because it greatly increases the risk of the occupation’s seizure of Palestinian property in Jerusalem and escalates attacks on them to change the demographic situation in the city.
The report indicated that the occupation began establishing a settlement outpost on an area of 5 dunums between the towns of Shuafat and Beit Hanina in Jerusalem, while its forces demolished 14 agricultural facilities in the towns of Anata and Al-Za’im, east of the city, and uprooted olive trees over 500 years old in the Wadi Al-Rababa neighborhood in Silwan, as well as several agricultural facilities. And commercial, homes and shops in the towns of Yatta in Hebron, Nahalin in Bethlehem, Anza in Jenin, and agricultural water wells in Bir Zeit town in Ramallah, while demolition notices were handed out in Al Walaja village in Jerusalem, Tarqumiya in Hebron and Khirbet Humsa in the northern Jordan Valley.
The report indicated that the settlers continue their attacks on the cities and towns of the West Bank under the protection of the occupation forces. They stormed the towns of Susiya and Halhul in Hebron, Khirbet Ibziq in Tubas, Turmusaya in Ramallah, Ya’bad in Jenin and Khirbet al-Samra in the northern Jordan Valley. They attacked Palestinian homes and properties, destroyed agricultural crops, seized 10 dunums and burned Hundreds of acres of agricultural land
In the towns of al-Khader and Husan in Bethlehem, they took over the area around the Khallet Khader spring in the northern Jordan Valley to establish a new settlement outpost.
