During the 36 years of her short life, during which the stardust that she scattered among personal tragedies and Hollywood dramas was scattered to a great extent, Marilyn Monroe, the actress and legendary pin-up model, had time to star in several of the greatest American films of the 1940s and 1950s, and to have affairs with some of the most prominent actors in the United States at the time (and perhaps Also with the 35th president of the USA, aka John F. Kennedy). And in the last year, Monroe's name has been in the headlines again, and not necessarily for the good or the right (fashionable) reasons.

How much style and courage!

The storm dress.

As you may remember, just last May we were all occupied with the "controversy dress" affair sponsored by the Met Gala, in which the Honorable Kim Kardashian slipped (and not too successfully, it should be noted) into the masterpiece that was originally designed personally, and exclusively, for Marilyn Monroe.

Inspired by a sketch by Bob Mackie, and worth around five million dollars(!), the dress designed by Jean-Louis is best remembered for Monroe's iconic, but also controversial, performance of the song "Happy birthday Mr. President" which she dedicated to President Kennedy in 1962 .

For weeks, the network raged and stormed, and did not spare criticism towards the Kardashian who was accused of causing considerable damage to the delicate and historic dress.

Marilyn Monroe.

And now, other iconic outfits of Marilyn Monroe are on the agenda - the two-piece wedding suit, which the Hollywood star wore on the occasion of her marriage to baseball sensation Joe DiMaggio in 1954, is being auctioned (!) at the "Gotta Have Rock and Roll" auction house.

The winning bid is expected to be somewhere between 1.5 and 2 million dollars!

Beautiful, in love and iconic in life and in death.

On January 14, 1954, Joe DiMaggio of the New York Yankees and the star of "Men Prefer Blondes", gathered at the San Francisco City Hall and entered into a marriage alliance, which lasted for a very short period of time.

Their marriage lasted only 274 days, and Hollywood legend says they remained friends until the day she died.

As a trendsetter that she was, and a fashion and culture icon who did not respond to dictates, Monroe showed up for the most exciting event in her life in a dark brown two-piece suit, which included: a narrow midi skirt in a pencil silhouette and a waist-length jacket, which was decorated with a white furry collar, white buttons and two pockets.

To finish off the elegant look, the beautiful actress opted for peep-toe pumps, a small white flower bouquet, her trademark soft golden curls, and a million dollar smile.

According to the auction house "Gotta Have Rock and Roll", which owns the treasure of vintage fashion in question, Marilyn originally bought the suit at the American department store chain Macy's, and later it was given to the son-in-law of her personal photographer, Milton Green.

How did the famous suit roll to the door of the auction house?

Not entirely clear.

There are already speculations on Insta that this is not the original suit!

What do you think?? (Photo: screenshot, public relations)

Meanwhile, on Insta as in Insta, there are already speculations and suspicions that this is not the original suit that Marilyn Monroe wore in 1954. Either way, if you really want to follow and/or participate, the auction opened last night and is expected to last until December 9.

Walla!

Fashion plans to pray to the god of fashion above, in the hope that this piece of fashion history (assuming it is original) will fall into the right hands.
