The employees of the General Directorate of Labor carried out nearly 132,000 control and prevention actions in the first half of the year.


After a particularly turbulent year 2020 due to the crisis, the Labor Inspectorate remained very active during the first six months of 2021. The some 1950 agents attached to the General Directorate of Labor (DGT) carried out nearly 132,000 control and prevention actions in the first half of the year, more than a third of which related to occupational health and safety issues.

That is almost half of the objective of the 300,000 interventions targeted in 2021.

Over these first six months, 80,000 establishments were visited, including 27% in the construction sector and 12% in the trade sector, details the DGT.

Overall, nearly two-thirds of the interventions carried out concerned the action priorities defined at the national level at the end of 2020. Thus, 21,570 actions focused in particular on the support and control of companies in the implementation of measures of protection against Covid-19, in order to ensure the proper application of health protocols;

16,231 on the prevention of falls from a height, which caused 16 fatal accidents in the first half of the year, and 6,948 on compliance with regulations against asbestos-related risks.

In addition, beyond the priorities of the year, 31,000 interventions concerned illegal work as well as fraud in partial activity.
