The Lebanese writer and writer Ghassan Matar believes that it is too early to write about the global war on Syria because we are still inside its facts and the one who ignited it and the crowd of it still dreams that it will fulfill its purposes as planned and desired, but the historical Syrian steadfastness during the ten years of this war is myth and event.
Matar stated in an article titled “The Lion of Syria, the Leadership and the Vision,” which was published in the book “The Leader Al-Assad, Bright Pages from the History of Resilience” issued by the Syrian General Authority for the book that ten years in which all mercenaries of the world gathered and succeeded them as a breaker, providing them with weapons, money, planning, and the goal is to overthrow and subjugate Syria For their sinister goals, they reaped nothing but failure and defeat, and these countries remained free and impregnable, unable to concede and surrender.
Matar explained that the reasons for steadfastness are great and noble, some of which date back to the history of Syria full of thousands of years of presence, civilization, glow and efficacy, and others go back to its present from its internal immunity, the pioneering leadership, the people clinging to pride and dignity, and the ideological army committed to the principle of defending the land, sovereignty and loyal allies.
Matar pointed out that it has been clear to President Bashar al-Assad since he assumed leadership that the enemies ’plans are targeting Syria first in the new Middle East plan due to its location and position on the Israeli occupation of Palestine, and this scheme, as engineered by successive US administrations, is a scheme of fragmentation, subjugation, humiliation, and complete Zionist control over Decision and wealth in the Arab countries near and far.
Matar clarified that for more pressure on Syria, the economic blockade came with the intention of restricting the Syrians, who faced this with patience and steadfastness, and to circumvent their leadership and their state.
It is noteworthy that Ghassan Matar was born in Jbeil in Lebanon in 1942. He studied law, language and literature, worked in teaching and journalism, and was elected deputy in the Lebanese Parliament for two consecutive terms. He was also elected Secretary General of the Lebanese Writers Union and has poetry collections and a number of studies and articles on literature and politics.
