The Marmarita Carnival spreads joy and joy throughout it

The town of Marmarita in the western Homs countryside held its annual carnival, with the participation of civil and popular activities and expatriates from the region.

The carnival, which started from the municipal square and toured Marmarita squares and streets, included a variety of artistic segments in masquerade costumes, traditional dance paintings, expressive cartoon figures, and decorated cars accompanied by artistic and musical scout teams that spread joy and draw joy on faces.

Zaher Yazigi, one of the organizers of the Marmarita Carnival, indicated in a statement to SANA reporter that the carnival is the result of the combined efforts of the townspeople and its people in the diaspora, who used to participate in it on August 14 since 1972, in celebration of the Assumption of the Virgin, except for five years during the crisis between 2011 and 2015. His activity again in 2016 in spreading love and peace and highlighting the intellectual, cultural and artistic features that represent the distinguished civilizational character of Marmarita.

Sally Yazigi, one of the participants in the carnival, explained that it is one of the distinctive features of the town and a prominent headline of folklore, as it attracts the people of Marmarita from inside and outside the country, and visitors from different governorates visit it in an atmosphere of familiarity, joy and love.

The expatriate, Nidal Habib, from the town, confirmed his keenness to participate in the carnival since its inception, as he comes every year to Syria during the period of the Lady’s Day to live the atmosphere of joy and joy that the carnival draws beautifully and spontaneously on the faces of the people of the region.
