The Minister of Endowments from Lattakia: Focusing in the religious discourse on social solidarity and helping the needy

The meeting of the Minister of Endowments, Dr. Muhammad Abd al-Sattar al-Sayed, with the heads of religious rituals at the Al-Rawda Mosque in Lattakia, focused on the importance of directing religious discourse at these times towards promoting social solidarity on issues affecting people's daily lives and urging merchants not to monopolize and provide assistance to the needy.

The Minister stressed the importance of solidarity and interdependence between all segments of society and community assistance in such circumstances that Syria is going through as a result of the war and targeting the infrastructure and basic components of the national economy and the unjust siege that accompanies it, which negatively affected the living life of the citizens.

He pointed out that the meeting today also coincides with the approach of the blessed month of Ramadan and the atmosphere of tolerance, love, altruism and solidarity that the month of goodness and blessing promotes.

During the Minister’s meeting with the President and members of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Lattakia, he called for concerted efforts and the participation of businessmen to reduce commodity prices in the markets and take bold stances to help citizens in light of emergency circumstances, indicating that the issue of zakat, charity and social assistance is left to every person according to his ability and method.

The meeting was attended by the Governor of Latakia, Ibrahim Khader Al-Salem, the Secretary of the Lattakia Branch of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, Engineer Haitham Ismail, and the Director of Endowments.
