The Minister of SMEs will be tried for having failed to declare part of his assets.
Alain Griset is summoned to appear on September 22 before the Paris Criminal Court for substantial omission in his declaration of his assets and his interests when he entered the government in July 2020.
The High Authority for the Transparency of Public Life (HATVP), to which members of the government must declare their assets, announced that they would take the case to court on November 24 in the case of Mr. Griset, the latter having failed to declare " financial investments held in a share savings plan (PEA), as well as the associated cash account, for a total amount of € 171,000 ”. An investigation into the origin of these funds, opened for "breach of trust", is still underway in Lille.
