With the aim of following up the implementation of public projects and the rates of their implementation in Deir Ezzor Governorate, the ministerial committee in charge of following up service and development projects in the governorate reviewed the reality of a number of vital projects in the governorate.

The tour of the committee, headed by the Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources, Eng. Bassam Tohme, included the process of rehabilitating the industrial zone in Deir Ezzor, rehabilitating the municipal slaughterhouse, restoring services, rehabilitating shops for industrial craftsmen in cooperation with international organizations, the project for rehabilitating the cement industries area, and rehabilitating roads and networks. Water and electricity in the area.

The committee's tour included reviewing the rehabilitation work of Al-Ash'ari Street and the real estate interests building in Deir ez-Zor, the market of Sixth to a Quarter Street and the al-Muqbi market, the Baath Bridge, the children's and maternity hospitals in Deir ez-Zor, the private Salloum and the health center in the Al-Othmaniyah neighborhood.

The committee followed up the progress of the renovation and rehabilitation works in the Badia Al-Sham and Orchidia hotels, the Al-Furat Tourist Complex project, the building of the Executive Committee of the Sports Federation in the governorate, and the hotel vocational school.

During its tour, the committee inaugurated the Tourism Directorate building in Deir ez-Zor, after its rehabilitation, with an area of ​​600 square meters, consisting of 3 floors, and the Technical Institute for Tourism and Hotel Sciences, which returned to service after a hiatus that lasted for years of the terrorist war on Syria.

The Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources explained in a statement to reporters that the committee sensed during its tour that many service projects had reached advanced stages of completion and work, to put them into service in the near future, in order to contribute to improving the service reality for the people of Deir ez-Zor, and commensurate with the size of the increasing return of the people to their cities and villages.

The Minister of Tourism, Engineer Mohamed Rami Martini, stressed the importance of the tourism sector in advancing the reality of the governorate, and its need for more tourism projects that reflect on the economic and developmental reality, especially at the level of hotel establishments and popular tourism, in addition to the important projects offered for investment, and similar projects belonging to the private sector, which It is an essential complement to government work, and it is an initiative of the national investor, as many of them are covered by the Investment Law with its advantages.

In turn, the governor of Deir ez-Zor, Fadel Najjar, stated that the projects that were accomplished in the province came with government support from the various budgets, or from the Deir ez-Zor Development Fund, within the framework of the reconstruction and construction plan that included the various sectors of the province, with the aim of improving the service and economic realities.

The Minister of State for Investment Affairs, Engineer Muhammad Fayez Al-Barsha, and the Secretary of the Arab Socialist Baath Party branch, Raed Ghadban, participated in the tour.

It is noteworthy that the committee was formed by a decision of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers in 2018 as one of the items of a comprehensive economic, social, cultural and service plan for Deir Ezzor.
