Lime, the world's largest micromobility company, expands the umbrella of services it provides to Israeli riders and launches a fleet of shared electric bicycles in the country.

In doing so, Lime will be the first company in Israel to offer multi-mobility solutions that include both scooters and shared bicycles, this after a limited and successful pilot it carried out in 2021 throughout Gush Dan.

This launch is part of the company's global move, which is spread over about 50 cities throughout North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and now in Israel, with a total investment of about 50 million dollars.

This move will allow moving between cities and increasing the range of mobility and travel distances, similar to the trend in other cities in the world where the service is offered.

Lime notes that Israel is the second largest market in the amount of rides on collaborative scooters among the countries where the service was launched, and predicts that this figure will also be maintained in the electric bicycle segment.

This is a significant and unusual figure in light of the fact that some of the markets are much larger in terms of area and population size, compared to Israel, and indicates that the demand for multi-mobility solutions in Israel is much higher than the existing supply.

According to the analysis of the behavior patterns of the riders in the electric bicycle pilot that took place in Israel, about half of the rides are used to get to and from workplaces, about 30% for getting to and from public transportation stations and the rest for moving between cities.

The company anticipates that each of the company's electric bicycle type vehicles will be used more than 5 times a day and that the average use of them will vary between 2.5-3.5 km.

Lime's electric bicycle fleet will be stationed in the coming days in the cities of Tel Aviv, Givatayim and Petah Tikva and will join the company's electric scooter fleet that is already operating throughout these cities.

In the future, the service is expected to expand to other central cities in Israel.

The prices will be 6 shekels for unlocking and 80 shekels per minute of riding.

According to Itai Rabad, CEO of Lime Israel: "Demands for easy and cheap mobility solutions are at an all-time high, both due to the increase in fuel prices and due to the desire of our target audience for a more sustainable and active lifestyle. Therefore, this launch is good news A real treat for the Israeli rider, who will now be able to enjoy Lime's advanced and safe service and technology also through our electric bikes. We intend to increase the number of bikes to more areas, and we call on more municipalities to join the micromobility revolution."

The electric bikes launched by Lime in Israel carry the same design associated with the brand, with increased visibility in striking lime green and white colors, which allow the bike to be seen from a distance even in poor lighting conditions.

The bikes, which were specially designed for collaborative transportation by the company's team of engineers, have a wide and advanced technical specification, which includes, among other things: a powerful and smart engine (250W) with improved climbing power, an automatic transmission that allows for smooth acceleration without interruptions and without shifting gears.

They are also equipped with a smart helmet device, a phone stand, a basket for carrying personal items and a replaceable battery, which allows the batteries of the electric bicycles to be replaced with those of the electric scooters, thus saving a different operating channel between the tools.

The bike will reach a maximum speed of 25 km/h and the battery will have an effective driving range of about 40 kilometers.
