The Al-Hanafiya Charitable Society in the countryside of Sheikh Badr in the Tartous governorate has opened a free pharmacy (a center for distributing free medicines) under the supervision of village doctors and pharmacists with the aim of helping the people of the village under the current circumstances.
Engineer Ammar Al-Sheikh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Society, stated in a statement to SANA reporter that this center came as a result of cooperation between the Charitable Society, a number of doctors and pharmacists from the village, some doctors in Tartous, laboratories and drug stores that provide medicine that is distributed as free medical forms for them to the pharmacy, explaining that most of the medicines are available Most of them are medicines for chronic diseases such as pressure, diabetes, heart and others.
Dr. Ammar Khalil al-Sheikh, a doctor (ear-nose-throat specialist), who is one of the villagers who joined the initiative, indicated that as part of its completion, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the association and 21 doctors of different specialties and some private hospitals, radiology, analysis and magnetic resonance centers in Tartous city to provide services to the villagers with a percentage of Discounts from 50 percent to 100 percent.
He pointed out that he and a group of his colleagues provide medical services in their clinics, which include free medicines, check-ups and operations with a discount rate of fifty percent to one hundred percent for needy and poor families.
The villagers expressed their gratitude and thanks for this initiative, stressing that it relieves them of many financial burdens under the current circumstances and reflects the true image of societal solidarity.
