FIBA Europe management held an online meeting yesterday (Tuesday) and following the renewed outbreak of the corona virus across Europe has decided to postpone the start of the season by almost three months.
Decisions were also made to try to open the Euroleague women's tournament on time (October), the women's Eurocup was postponed to December and decisions were made regarding the holding of the youth teams tournaments in the summer of 2021 which will currently be held on time and hosts have been set.
The European Under-20 Championship has not yet been determined, and the intention is to announce the host within a few weeks. The European Championship for the Second Level Women's Reserve, which was supposed to take place in Israel, is also still unclear where it will be played.
