The Poetry Society of the Palestinian Writers and Journalists Union devoted a meeting on Tuesday to celebrate the Palestinian poet and martyr Abdel Rahim Mahmoud and his struggle and literary experience.
In his intervention, the poet Radwan Qassem spoke about Mahmoud's biography, pointing out that he was born in 1913 in the city of Tulkarm in occupied Palestine. And he threw it into the abyss of ruin, either a life that pleases the friend, or a death that enrages the enemy,” leaving a large number of poems that carried patriotic and national concern, defending the cause of Palestine, and a clear awareness of the Arab reality in that period.
The poet Saleh Hawari also spoke in his intervention about deviation in poetry and language, presenting a series of evidence, evidence and examples, pointing out that deviation is not a product of this era, but has existed since ancient times, but poetic modernity crystallized and sanctified it as a concept and a necessity of modern poetry.
And the poet Bilal Ahmed recited poems from his poetry collection, The Book of Formation of Love, entitled I am waiting for you, Mahdi Muntazer, and the space of the song. Vertical came titled in the whim of Jerusalem.
Critic Helena Atallah presented a reading of the poets' poems, in which she drew attention to the musical structure of the poems of the participating poets and its role in the intellectual structure of those poems.
In a paragraph entitled Face to Face, the poet Kholoud Qaddoura presented poems entitled “You are Completed and the Eloquence of a Wave” and others without a title, in addition to a text in which she opposed a poem by the poet Ahmed Shawky, while the critic Ahmed Hilal presented a critical and analytical reading of the poems delivered in terms of form and content.
