In the Central District Police Central Unit, they are expected to decide today whether to request a remand extension of the former senior detainee, who was arrested last Monday on suspicion of sexual offenses.

Investigators from the Exposure Youth Unit, in the Central Unit of the Central District Police, will decide in the morning (Wednesday) whether to apply again for an extension of the detention of the former senior official of the Tel Aviv Municipality, who was arrested last Monday on suspicion of sexual offenses.

The police have not ruled out the possibility of agreeing to his release under restrictive conditions, but this is now subject to removing the fear for them investigators of a possible disruption of the investigation if the senior is released.

In any case, the police are expected to bring him before a judge in the Magistrate's Court in Rishon Lezion, where he will determine whether he will be released or later arrested in order to complete a number of investigative actions.

As we reported in "Israel Today", the police attribute to the senior the offenses of an act of sodomy on a minor and an indecent act by force.

The Magistrate's Court in Rishon Lezion extended his detention until Wednesday and banned the publication of his name at this stage.

The suspect denies what is attributed to him.

As stated, after an investigation of almost two weeks, during which testimony was obtained from the complainant against the public figure, on Monday morning, investigators from the Central Sq.

In addition, a search was made of his home and computers and storage media were seized in his office.

Israel Today has learned that the investigation was transferred to the Tel Aviv Police Center, in order to prevent, among other things, professional considerations and to prevent a conflict of interest between the Tel Aviv Police and the authority with which it works.

Also, the arrest was made after the police had a legal consultation and it was understood that there was no statute of limitations on all the offenses attributed to the senior.

According to the investigators at the hearing, "this is an investigation into the acts of sodomy on a minor with consent about 14 years ago and an act of sodomy on a minor by force from those times in at least 10 cases. In addition, an indecent act on the same minor who grew up in 2018."

They added that the suspect had regular sex for eight months in at least 15 cases and "the suspect is known to the young man and remembered because of the events that were in force, and not with consent."

Judge Tal Anar of the Magistrate's Court in Rishon, who was preceded by the initial investigation material, ruled that the public man would be detained for the time being for two days and not for seven days as requested by the investigators.

In his decision, the judge noted that these are acts that indicate sexual danger. "However, he emphasized that" these are old events more than a decade ago. "Since then, no other allegations have been made against the suspect.

On the other hand, the defense attorneys, attorneys Tavor Lang, Sharon Nahari and Avi Chimi claimed that this was a puzzling arrest and asked to release the suspect under house arrest because there was no fear of disruption.

According to them, he answered the investigators' questions, denied that he had sex with minors and did not know or remember that he knew the complainant.
