Last March Eve and Joseph Loreth, a married couple of 80 years, saw each other for the last time, after the man was admitted for an operation.
Since then, until last October 15, they have been separated by the restrictions due to the coronavirus.
It has been seven months, 215 days that concluded on October 15 in this reunion that was recorded by the staff of the nursing home where Eve is, the Rosecastle of Delaney Creek in Brandon (Florida).
Joseph was admitted to hospital last March for an illness that caused him to lose his leg. He was later forced to be separated from his wife Eve due to his rehabilitation and the restrictions resulting from the pandemic. Based on calls and distance meetings they have been having contact during this time, but the total reunion has not arrived until this month. It was organized by the residence staff. On that visit from Joseph to Eve, both elders were carried away by emotion and tears. Both were only able to repeat the same phrases: "I love you so much", "I have missed you so much" ... until Joseph concluded with some humor: "For 60 years I have done something well".
