A dozen criminals were arrested this Tuesday morning in Lyon (Rhône) and Annemasse (Haute-Savoie) by investigators from the zonal direction of the judicial police of the Rhône.
They are suspected of having robbed an armored van on December 2, 2019 in Daillens, Switzerland.
During the searches, the police got their hands on money and weapons that would not have been used during the expedition to Switzerland.
This team was identified thanks to the work carried out by the Lyon investigators supported by their colleague from the OCLCO (central office for the fight against organized crime).
The bandits blow up the door of the van with explosives
This La Poste van was held up around 7.40 p.m. near the village of Daillens.
The money transfer vehicle was forced to stop by a van and car.
Then the conveyors were forced out of the cockpit at the threat of firearms.
The thugs managed to open the doors of the van using explosives and seize the load which contained a sum of 19 million Swiss francs (approximately 17 million euros).
Shortly after, they set fire to the three vehicles and left the scene, towards France.
