The Russian currency rose against the European and American currencies in this afternoon's trading, as oil rose and the price of a barrel in the markets approached the $100 level.
According to the data of the Moscow Stock Exchange, which was reported by Russia Today, the dollar exchange rate fell by 6 kopeks to 60.61 rubles, while the euro exchange rate fell by 21 kopeks to 62.54 rubles.
The Russian currency is witnessing gains against other currencies as a result of the measures taken by the government in response to the Western sanctions imposed on Moscow.
